Request A Tune!
Why Can't I Tune In Anymore?

Well you're probably wondering why you are unable to listen to your favorite Hip-Hop and R&B station anymore. Unfortunately we have shut down our radio operations and don't plan to be starting them back up anytime soon. We are still operating two stations though, a Jazz station and a Hitz & Hip-Hop station, so please be sure to tune in to the stations below:

Why Did This Happen?

Internet Radio in general has not become very profitable yet. We have been in the net radio business for a while now (since 2006), and have struggled very hard at just breaking even. In January of 2009, we found a method that helped us easily break even and profit too. Over time, this method grew to the point where our radio stations were a huge source of income for our company. Basically, every time a user tuned in on the WindowsMedia Tuner (this is where 99% of our traffic came from), they would tune in with Microsoft's Windows Media Player and within the player, our website would appear with small text advertisements on it (this built in browser was called HTMLview). Because of the mass amount of people launching our stations per day, we were able to gain a large amount of web traffic making the website text ads pay to keep the stations running. This also brought in enough money that we were able to deliver the stations commercial free without audio ads.

On our 1 year anniversary of running 000Jamz (April 10, 2009), Microsoft announced that it was going to be removing stations who used HTMLview from their guide on August 1, 2009. We immediately protested this change, as we knew that we would be run out of business without it. After many hours on the phone with Microsoft and their partners, we came to an agreement that our stations would be allowed to keep using HTMLview and stay listed in the guide if we joined up with a specific advertising agency.

Everything was set to go, and when August 1, 2009 rolled around, we had been removed from their guide. When we inquired, we were told that they had changed their minds and no longer wished to let us keep HTMLview. We kept running though, hoping that we could come to some sort of agreement with Microsoft, and unfortunately we were unable to even though they kept telling us that they would find a solution.

So basically, Microsoft's poor decision making abilities are the reason we are no longer in operation. We are very sorry to shut down, but due to the high costs involved in running our radio operations, we simply have no way to make money off of the stations without HTMLview.

What Can I Do To Help?

Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done to save 000Jamz. We have already turned off many of the servers powering our stations and simply are unable to make a profit.
